Contact me today for your free 15-minute phone consultation
How long is a session?
Counseling sessions are 50 minutes long.
What is your fee?
The fee is $200 per 50 minute session.
What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept credit card, debit card, cash, or check.
Do you accept insurance?
I do not accept insurance but am considered an out-of-network provider. I can provide a Superbill at the end of the month for you to send to your insurance company to possibly receive full or partial reimbursement. I recommend that you confirm reimbursement rates and your current deductible with your insurance company before starting counseling. If reimbursement is desired, I will need to provide your insurance company with a diagnosis which I will discuss with you first.
Are you accepting new clients?
I am not accepting new clients at this time.
How often will my child see you?
I recommend that clients have one session per week to maximize the benefits of counseling. Weekly sessions are especially important for children as they learn new skills and tools to practice outside of sessions.
My child is having a hard time at school. Can you help?
I do offer consultations over the phone with school staff at a prorated fee.
What can I expect if i decide to begin therapy?
THE PHONE CONSULTATION
I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to see if I would be a good fit for your needs. During this conversation I will ask you to briefly summarize what is happening and what you would like your child to receive from therapy. I will also set an appointment time to meet for the initial session, determine who will need to be present during the first session (i.e., just parent, parent with child, or just child) and review the session fee.
THE FIRST SESSION
It is best if you arrive 10-15 minutes before your first session to complete intake and assessment paperwork. At the end of the session we will schedule the next session.
AFTER THE FIRST SESSION
The assessment process is completed over the course of three sessions. During the assessment, I focus on building a relationship with your child, teaching them about the counseling process, and learning more about the challenges they have been experiencing. At the end of the assessment period, I will schedule a time to meet with you, without your child present, to review therapy goals, the therapeutic process and how often I should meet with them, how I will be working with your child in session, and recommend ways you can help your child outside of session. During this meeting, I may suggest periodic parenting sessions to check in with you about how your child is doing at home and/or at school, review any questions or concerns you have, and make recommendations.
ENDING THERAPY
Once your child has begun to achieve their goals, we will discuss transitioning to bi-weekly, then monthly sessions. We will also discuss what things might happen that would lead him or her to return to therapy. The termination phase is an important part of therapy and a time for your child to prepare for the closure of therapy. I do my best to make space in my schedule for returning clients.

How long will therapy last?
This is different for every child and family. The length of counseling will depend on several factors, including but not limited to, your child's needs, treatment goals, and environmental factors in your child's life.
What is confidentiality?
Confidentiality means that the information you or your child share with me in session will not be shared outside of the therapy room. However, there are a few instances in which I would be mandated by law to break confidentiality. These include suspected child abuse, elder abuse (65+ years old), dependent adult abuse, or if I find out that your child has a plan to kill themselves or someone else. I am a firm believer in upholding confidentiality for minor's. The therapeutic relationship is built on trust and a child must be able to trust me in order to open up and make progress in therapy.
